ITALY 'Casa degli Orsi'

Casa degli Orsi is situated in the small, ancient hill-top village

of Orsara Bormida in the wine-growing,agricultural heartland

of Piedmont in Northern Italy. In fact, our property is two houses (“Romeo” and “Juliet”) facing one another across the courtyard, and can accommodate up to ten people. It has been painstakingly renovated over the course of over two years during 2007 – 2009.

“Romeo” is on three floors (270 square metres) and comprises a large kitchen/dining room, a large sitting room, a gallery, a study, a double bed room and a twin bedroom - each with its own bathroom. The study has a double sofa-bed so you could sleep one or two more people.

“Juliet” is on two floors (170 square metres) and comprises three bedroom suites, each for two people and each with its own bathroom. Two of the suites have their own roof terrace. The ground floor suite has access to the courtyard and is therefore suitable for less able-bodied guests. There’s also a breakfast room with a sunny balcony. Down the path from “Juliet”, the steps lead to the studio, ideal on hot summer days for painters. There is also a solar shower.

The furniture is a mix of antique and modern. The modern paintings are all originals.

The property enjoys its own enclosed courtyard, a plunge-pool and three terraces with views over the Bormida valley. On a clear day you can see Mon Viso 115 km distant.
